Meet the Founders!

Hi, we are Mollie T., Jackie J., Mollie and Jackie, two sets of twins who are connected in more ways than one. First, we are all related to each other, Mother and Aunt, and daughters and nieces who happen to have the same names. Secondly, we all are members of the new positive rockin’ country music group, Mollie and Jackie, MJ2!

Thirdly, we are the original founders of the Diabetic Angels. The Diabetic Angels were created in 1999, when Mollie, who was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes when she was four, experienced an extremely hurtful bout with discrimination at school. When we came to the conclusion that people are not intentionally mean, but that they do cruel things out of fear and ignorance, we felt compelled to do something about it. We didn’t want anyone else to experience the pain and hurt that Mollie had to endure, so created the Diabetic Angels as a club to teach our friends and family about diabetes, with the mission of educating, advocating, and fundraising until a cure for Diabetes is found.
