My son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after being mis-diagnosed with Type II and not having insulin in his system for 5 mos. I watched my 24 yr old son go from a healthy 180 to a frightening 95 pounds in that time. It was only after going into the early stage of a diabetic coma that he was correctly diagnosed and is now getting the help he needs. Unfortunately, he like so many others, has lost his job and now has no insurance. They denied him Medicaid stating his unemployment insurance is TOO much income.
