I read about Extreme Weekend for Children with Diabetes and agree this is a very worth while cause, especially since self-esteem is such a huge issue with diabetic children. I only have one question, when will someone start a camp like this for those diabetics who are 19 and older?? I ask because I just finished speaking with a young mom (24) who complained of being out of touch with her knowledge about diabetes, out of shape, and lacked the confidence necessary to maintain good management, so you can understand why I think the same idea would apply to adults also. :) Anyway, we hope you and your kids take advantage of all the DA's ave to offer i.e., Diabetes 101, Do's and Don'ts with Dr. Dewan, or participate in the groups and forums! Good luck with the camp and we will be sure to spread the word about such a wonderful camp.
