I would like to be a part of Diabetic Angel because of my youngest daughter. Her name is Jocelyn and she was diagnosed in May 2008 at the age of 4. I never really understood the disease until my baby was diagnosed. There has been major life changes since living with Diabetes in our family.
I have been trying to help in anyway that I can to be of any support to any other families. I never realized how much many of the schools are not even familiar with Diabetes in young children. Jocelyn now has a LVN that sits with her all day in class which is great now. In the beginning of school I had to write so many letters to Sacramento, Ca school board & our current school district to finally make that happen. Because for the first 2 weeks of her being in school in kindergarten I was told Jocelyn could not attend school if I could not be there in her class. So since that day I made it a point to make sure that doesn't happen to another family and to try my best to help educate people and to offer any support if needed.
