- My brother, Corey, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 3 years old. Now being 17, he is a trooper. Having to deal with 11 years of shots & needles, Corey is now on the pump. Our family is extremely dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes, & strong supporters of charities. We walk the JDRF Walk for Diabetes in Boston every year, with our team, Corey's Crusaders. We also hold our annual golf tournament every year with our entire family to raise money for JDRF. This year will be our 12th tournament, I believe. I am sincerely devoted to the cause, and I am inspired by my brother everyday. I would like to thank Nick Jonas for setting such an amazing example for people with the disease, & being so dedicated to finding a cure, just like thousands of people across the world, and just like I want to be.
